Who We Are
A community led organisation to advise, facilitate and fundraise for local initiatives that benefit the community, protect the environment and preserve the cultural heritage of Spetses. We are committed to the materialisation of social, environmental and cultural ideas that meet the challenges of our time while creating new opportunities.
With a focus on health and wellness, ecology, environment and sustainability, we work especially to encourage engagement, discussion and participation at the local level so as to identify and provide support for projects and initiatives that are inclusive and informed specifically by the community and its needs.
In addition to emerging projects we hope to more broadly serve the community by providing advice and support for local businesses and individuals interested in aligning themselves with sustainable models of industry by helping identify potential grants/funding but also helping build a local network of like minded industry leaders.
Our board is made up of members of the Spetses community alongside individuals with ties to the island.
Meet The Team
Efthymia Psarakou Belesi
I moved to Spetses island after I finished my studies in Technological Agriculture. This led to the creation of my family, as I married a ‘Spetsiot’, Taki Belesi and together we have two children, Ioanna who is 14 years old, and Michalis who is 7 years old.
It has always been very important to me to get to know, to get acquainted, and learn more about the island I have chosen as my home.
I have actively participated in Parents’ Associations taking the role of Vice-President in the Preschool Association and President of the Primary School Association. I have also had administrative duties with the management of the local football club, A.O.S. Bouboulina. In 2019, I was elected as a Spetses Municipality Town Councillor.
Also, after collective efforts, we have recently been able to create a Parents’ and Friends’ Association for Persons with Disabilities, named “SPETSOPOULIA”.
My love for Spetses is therefore expressed via sports, education, social welfare, and avid participation within the local society. All the above mentioned are shared beliefs and goals with Community Trust Spetses for further and stable growth of our island.
Beatrice has lived and worked in Greece within the environmental sector for over fifteen years. She advocates for social and environmental justice. She has been visiting Spetses all her life.

Spetses is my home. I grew up in New Zealand and still divide my heart between two proud and beautiful places; Spetses is where I am living and raising my family.
With a background in Non-Profit Organisations in New Zealand, in coordination and administrative roles, I moved to Athens, Greece in 2004 where I had the privilege to work at the University of Athens Medical School (NKUA) in the role of the principal administrator responsible for the administration of a number of national and international research projects. Assisting in the founding of the Hellenic Health Foundation (HHF) followed where I researched and implemented inaugural operation systems. For both HFF and NKUA I contributed to successful research project proposals to the European Commission (EC) which are ongoing.
Today, I am partner of ‘RTX Editing and Images’ based in Spetses, Greece.
My ‘official’ involvement in the Spetses community includes being a founding member of the Spetses Yacht Club, having held the positions of Commodore and Treasurer and Organiser of the Spetses “Sailors for the Seas” Clean Regatta initiative (Gold Level Award 2019 for Spetses Armata Cup Regatta), and past Treasurer and current member of the Preschool Parents’ Association.
